Each year, approximately 250 gifted freshmen who love mathematics and science are invited to attend the Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy®. Located in Aurora, 40 miles west of downtown Chicago, IMSA is a public residential high school. Students here soon discover the excitement of belonging to a supportive community of bright, motivated classmates and teachers while exceeding levels of achievement rarely obtained in traditional high schools. On our site, you will learn about various aspects of the IMSA experience, from academics and sports to clubs and housing. In addition, you will find links to contact employees, parents, and other students in case you have any additional questions.
Application deadline for the 2008-2009 academic year has now passed. Applications for the 2009-2010 academic year will be available online, and for download in September.
