Drug and Alcohol Response Team (DART)

The Drug and Alcohol Response Team is a group of IMSA students who work with the school counselors on issues related to drugs and alcohol. They are part of an on-going education and prevention program designed to explore issues related to drug and alcohol use among adolescents. The students design and implement programs to be presented during National Red Ribbon Week to educate their peers at IMSA regarding the use of mood altering chemicals and their dangerous effects. The students put on skits, hand out buttons and wristbands, and get other kids to sign "NO USE" pledges during the weeklong campaign. They also participate in bringing outside speakers on campus for the entire student body. Their other activities include off-campus presentations at local elementary schools and special education events for IMSA's graduating seniors. Their overall goal is to help students establish healthy alternatives for living a drug/alcohol/tobacco free lifestyle.
