Student Leadership and Development

Student Leadership Development provides students opportunities to become leaders within the Academy, in the community and for the world.

Through their academic course work, residential life experiences, seminar discussions, lectures, conferences, and involvement in academy and co-curricular activities, students experience the challenge of leading others, creating change and having a sense of belonging to a community.

IMSA graduates will be proficient in essential leadership skills and concepts such as communication skills, service learning, and advocacy.  The program also provides opportunities to explore belief systems, values, and the process of ethical decision making.

What is Student Leadership Development?

Leader: To lead is to invite, inspire, mobilize, and guide ourselves and others to make positive differences in our homes, schools, communities and the world.  As a community of leaders, we utilize the resources available, create new opportunities to enhance our skills and values, and make decisions based on our established community ethical standards.
