IMSA Hires Director of Development

AURORA-- The Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy® (IMSA) has announced the hiring of Juan C. Bustamante of Lemont as its Director of Development.
Ted Parge, IMSA Vice President for Institutional Advancement and CEO of the IMSA Fund for Advancement of Education, said Bustamante has extensive experience in fundraising, serving for the past 11 years at United Way/Crusade of Mercy in Chicago as its Resource Development Director.
"Mr. Bustamante brings with him a wealth of experience in the areas of fundraising, marketing, special events, supervision and training," Parge said. "We are fortunate to have Juan’s insight and experience behind us as we continue to try and raise the awareness level and commitment from individuals, corporations and foundations in the private sector to advance the Academy’s mission."
Bustamante earned his B.S. in Liberal Arts and Science from the University of Illinois at Chicago and is currently pursing an M.B.A. degree there.
The IMSA Fund for Advancement of Education, chartered in 1986, is a not-for-profit 501 (c)(3) corporation that enlists private sector support of "margin of excellence" initiatives at the Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy. In 12 short years, the IMSA Fund has raised $11.6 million with 85% of the gifts designated to support special projects such as curriculum development, endowed chairs, laboratory equipment purchases, lecture series, minority recruitment and retention programs, institutional research, scholarships, student research and inquiry and statewide service programs.
Located in Aurora, Illinois, the Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy® (IMSA) is an internationally-recognized pioneering educational institution created by the State to develop talent and stimulate excellence in teaching and learning in mathematics, science and technology.
