AURORA-- The Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy® (IMSA) is hosting an upcoming Community Lecture in December featuring cosmologist and physicist Dr. Lawrence Krauss, author of The Physics of Star Trek. These lectures, as well as a series of Seminars and Dialogues for Illinois educators, are sponsored by the IMSA Great Minds Program®.

On December 5 at 7:30 p.m. in the IMSA auditorium, internationally renowned physicist Dr. Lawrence Krauss will present The Physics of Star Trek. The lecture also will feature selections from Krauss' Top Ten Star Trek® Physics Bloopers, gleaned in part from many of the most distinguished physicist-trekkers in the world.

Dr. Krauss has been called the successor to the late Dr. Carl Sagan, sharing Sagan's infectious enthusiasm for the world of science. Dr. Krauss is the Ambrose Swasey Professor of Physics, Professor of Astronomy and Chairman of the Department of Physics at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland.
