AURORA—The Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy has scheduled a series of statewide informational meetings this fall and “Saturday Live at IMSA” sessions for prospective students and parents to learn more about IMSA's academic, residential and admission programs.

The “Saturday Live at IMSA” sessions will be held one Saturday each month from November through May. Click here for “Saturday Live at IMSA” dates .

During the Saturday sessions, admission staff will be available from 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. to answer questions. Tours also will be available as well as opportunities to speak with current IMSA students. Space is limited and advance reservations are required. Please call the IMSA Office of Admission at 630-907-5028 or 1-800-500-IMSA (4672) to schedule your Saturday visit. Lunch tickets also are available for $4.00 per person.

Applications for the IMSA class of 2007, which will enroll next fall, are now available. Click here to download an IMSA application. Talented Illinois students enrolled in the equivalent of a ninth grade program are eligible for consideration. Tuition and most room and board expenses are provided by state funds. A written application must be completed and returned to IMSA, postmarked no later than March 1, 2004 . Students should contact their high school guidance counselor or IMSA's admission office at (630) 907-5028 or 1-800-500-IMSA to receive an application.

IMSA, which opened in 1986, has graduated more than 2700 students with college placement rates of more than 99%. The Academy offers advanced courses in mathematics, science, the arts and humanities with an emphasis on connections within and across the disciplines. Research is an important part of the academic program and enables students to work with faculty, scientists and scholars. The Academy also offers many fine and performing arts opportunities, 32 cocurricular activities and 18 interscholastic sports.
