AURORA – The Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy ® (IMSA) Fund
for
Advancement of Education has elected Gregory K. Jones to its Board of
Directors. Jones is a partner of the Edgewater Funds in Chicago where he
leads the firm's Information Technology sector.
Prior to joining Edgewater, Jones was the founder and CEO of uBid, Inc., a leading online marketplace. He has received many business leadership awards including 1999 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award, Crain's Chicago Business 40 Most Influential People Under 40 Business List and the University of Illinois at Chicago 's Entrepreneur Hall of Fame.
“Greg is precisely the kind of leader we want and need going forward,” said IMSA President Dr. Stephanie Pace Marshall. “He joins the IMSA Fund board at a pivotal time as we work to create and launch ‘next generation IMSA,' ” she said.
The IMSA Fund is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation that accepts, invests and distributes gifts from the private sector to support the Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy 's mission and work. These gifts support programs and services for IMSA students and staff, other Illinois students and educators in Illinois and beyond.
