The Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy (IMSA) Great Minds Program® announces that Grammy Award-winning musician George Winston will conduct a music workshop for a group of IMSA students on Tuesday, September 23 at 1:00 p.m.

About 40 IMSA students will attend the special workshop. Also attending will be 2003 Illinois Teacher of the Year David Morrison and four of his Mt. Prospect High School students. Winston will share his knowledge of music, music theory, piano, harmonica and acoustic guitar. Winston's popular recent recordings include FOREST (1994-Grammy Award winner), LINUS & LUCY - THE MUSIC OF VINCE GUARALDI (1996), and NIGHT DIVIDES THE DAY - THE MUSIC OF THE DOORS (2002).

This workshop is an IMSA Great Minds Program® event and is made possible in part by a grant from the Tellabs Foundation and other generous gifts.
