IMSA to Graduate 17th Senior Class

AURORA— The Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy® (IMSA) will graduate its 17th senior class at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 4, at the Paramount Theatre in Aurora. Dr. Edward W. "Rocky" Kolb, director of the Particle Astrophysics Center at the Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory, will give the commencement address. Local-area members of IMSA's 208-member Class of 2005 include: (see enclosed list).
Arielle Kanters of Evanston and Nicholas Jackson of Crystal Lake will be the student speakers. Dr. Stephanie Pace Marshall, IMSA president, and Dr. Luis Nunez, chairman of the IMSA Board of Directors, will present diplomas and academic medallions to graduates. Because of seating limitations, IMSA's ceremony is not open to the public. Following the ceremony, graduates and their families will join staff members for a reception on campus.
IMSA Principal Eric McLaren said the students are to be commended for their achievements. "Today we celebrate your contributions in the classroom, in our communities, and in the world around us," McLaren said. "Today is also a day to thank you and your families for choosing IMSA, and for allowing us to take a part in shaping you, our 'IMSA ambassadors' to the world."
