AURORA—The Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy (IMSA) Choir and the UNITY Singers (of the Fox Valley) will host a free special benefit concert on May 22, 2005 at 3:00 p.m. in the IMSA auditorium, 1500 West Sullivan Road, Aurora.

Illinois families whose relatives have served in the Middle East are invited to attend the Armed Forces Day Tribute: In Celebration and In Honor of Our Troops in Afghanistan and Iraq. A free will donation will be accepted at the door for the Operation Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom Family Fund.

"Nearly everyone knows someone who has been affected by the war in the Middle East," said Dottie Krett, IMSA staff member and member of UNITY Singers. "In support of those loved ones who have given so much to our country, we are proud to hold this benefit to help in providing much needed assistance to Illinois' victims and their families," Krett said.

The UNITY Singers are a volunteer, not-for-profit, choral group from the Fox Valley who have been using their musical talents for the past year to raise money and awareness for those in need through organized charitable fundraising events. Krett said the group still needs assistance from the media in reaching those families who have been affected by the war in the Middle East.

"Members of our choral group have been meeting with members of area city councils in the hopes of finding those families and spreading the word to others about our benefit performance," Krett said.

This concert's music features American composers including the cantata, I Will Lift Up Mine Eyes by Adolphus Hailstork. The students of the IMSA Choir will add their talented voices to create songs of honor and patriotism.

Please call UNITY Singers' director Mr. James Priovolos at (773) 764- 2533 or singing member/publicist, Dottie Krett (630) 845-0378 with any questions.
