AURORA—The IMSA Fund for Advancement of Education has elected Herbert B. Knight of St. Charles to its Board of Directors.
Knight is the former owner and director of A.E. Bogott & Sons, Inc., in Sterling, Illinois and is a member of the Board of Directors of Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora and the Board of Trustees of Rush University Medical Center in Chicago. Knight has previously served as a director of Computer Technology Corporation in Cincinnati, OH., First United Financial Services in Arlington Heights, IL. and as a retired director of corporate planning at Tenneco, Inc. in Houston, TX.
Knight said he looks forward to helping the Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy fulfill its mission and vision of preparing next generation leaders in mathematics, science and technology.
"I have always been interested in serving IMSA because quality teaching and learning are the keys to all our futures," Knight said. "IMSA fulfills that mission."
Knight received both his undergraduate and graduate degrees (Amos Tuck School) with distinction from Dartmouth College in Hanover, NH and has extensive philanthropic experience. Knight received numerous awards for setting several Dartmouth College records for annual fund raising when he served as Class Head Agent. Knight also co-chaired his 50th Reunion Class Fundraising, setting another college record of almost $6.5 million.
The IMSA Fund for Advancement of Education is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation organized for the benefit of, to perform the functions of, or to carry out certain charitable, educational, literary and scientific purposes of the Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy. The IMSA Fund solicits, receives, invests and administers gifts, grants and other contributions from the private sector (corporations, foundations, individuals and other organizations) to support IMSA's mission and work.
