AURORA-- The Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy® (IMSA) has scheduled a series of admissions events this fall and winter for prospective students and parents to learn more about IMSA’s academic, residential and admission programs. Visit the IMSA Admissions website at www.imsa.edu/admissions/ to see a listing of various admission program offerings for prospective students.

Applications for the IMSA Class of 2010, which will enroll next fall, are now available online at www.imsa.edu/admissions/applyOnline/ . Students also can contact their high school guidance counselor or IMSA's Office of Admissions at (630) 907-5028 or 1-800-500-IMSA to receive an application. Illinois students enrolled in the equivalent of a ninth grade program are eligible for consideration. A written application must be completed and returned to IMSA, postmarked no later than March 1, 2007.

IMSA is a residential advanced college prep program for talented Illinois students in grades 10-12. As a public institution, IMSA’s program is tuition free. The Academy offers advanced courses in mathematics, science, the arts and humanities with an emphasis on connections within and across the disciplines. Research is an important part of the academic program and enables students to work with faculty, scientists and scholars. The Academy also offers many fine and performing arts opportunities, 32 co- curricular activities and 18 interscholastic sports. The Wall Street Journal and Worth Magazine rank IMSA among the top public schools in the nation to place its graduates in Ivy League and highly selective college and universities. IMSA’s college placement rate is more than 99%.

The Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy® (IMSA) will host two types of on-campus visitation opportunities this academic year:

IMSA Preview Days

IMSA Preview Days are an opportunity for students, their parents and teachers interested in learning more about the Academy's academic and residential life programs.

Take a student-led tour of campus, speak with faculty and sit in on a mock class, and meet IMSA residential staff, parents and alumni. Get a first-hand look at what our programs are about! IMSA Preview Days will run from 10:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. on the following dates:

No advance reservations are needed for IMSA Preview Days. These are formal events. Please arrive by 10:30 a.m. to take advantage of all offerings.

Saturday 2-Hour Tours at IMSA

The Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy will open its doors to prospective students and parents one Saturday of most months beginning October 2006 through May 2007 to provide information about its residential educational program.

During the sessions, called Saturday 2-Hour Tours at IMSA, admissions staff will be available to answer questions about the admissions process and provide information about IMSA's academic and residential programs. Student-led tours also will be available.

Advance reservations are required and space is limited. RSVP for a morning (10:00 a.m. – noon) or an afternoon (noon – 2:00 p.m.) session. Please call the IMSA Office of Admissions at (630) 907-5028 or (800) 500-IMSA to schedule your visit.
