Our Mission
The mission of the IMSA Kids Institute®, a student learning enterprise that develops and delivers educational enrichment experiences, is to ignite student interest in science, mathematics, technology and the humanities by providing an innovative and supportive environment that enables IMSA students, in collaboration with faculty and community partners, to create products and services
for younger learners.
Who We Are
Kids Institute experiences provide hands-on enrichment in mathematics, science and technology for students in 3rd through 9th grades. Reaching out to kids to spark an interest at an early age though the Kids Institute programs and products is a way to produce a positive effect in the community. IMSA students develop and direct their learning and act as teachers and mentors to younger students, inspiring the younger kids to want to learn. In return, IMSA students learn life skills and receive a sense of worth.
This connection to the community started as one idea (Science Explorers) and has now blossomed into many programs that impact different age groups and families of varied economic and ethnic backgrounds. Scholarships to Kids Institute programs and free distribution of the IMSA on Wheels DVDs and web based resources help the Institute serve a diverse and eager community of learners.
