It IS Brain Surgery!

Location:  Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy, 1500 Sullivan Road, Aurora, IL
Time:        5:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Cost:        $55 (includes a meal of cheese pizza, beverage and fruit)

3rd - 4th Grade

Investigate all of the structures of the brain, and learn about their functions. Students will operate like brain surgeons as they create a model of a brain! Models will be given to students to take home at the end of the program.

5th - 6th Grade

Examine the brain like never before! Through the dissection, or 'operation' of sheep brains, students will explore the microstructure of the brain and how connections are made between brain regions.

3rd - 4th Grade

Calling all junior scientists! Through hands-on activities, students will experiment with various energy sources and discover the differences among them all.  Students will also learn how to create their very own recycled paper which they will get to take home!

5th - 6th Grade

Let's GO green! Find out how powerful solar power can be, and learn how it IS easy being green!  Students will construct a solar powered car, test, redesign and race cars against their peers' designs!
