Dr. Claiborne Skinner

Bio:

Dr. Skinner received his Ph.D. in American History from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 1991 and has taught at the Academy since 1993.  In 2008 he was the recipient of the Illinois Daughters of the American Revolution’s Outstanding Teacher of American History Award and was also a national finalist.  He received the 2015 Outstanding Teacher of American History awarded by the National Society Daughters of the Colonial Wars.   He is the author of The Upper Country: French Enterprise in the Colonial Great Lakes ( Baltimore: Johns Hopkins Press, 2008).
