Senior Amanda Walsh was nominated by Congressman Dan Lipinski for admission to the U.S. Naval Academy in late January. Walsh was one of 22 students from the class of 2015 nominated to a service academy by Congressman Lipinski, and one of 12 to be nominated to the Naval Academy.
“Every year, applications pour into my offices from the district’s best and brightest students. The selection of nominees is based upon a strict ‘whole person’ evaluation, so just to be nominated to one of our nation’s service academies is an incredible honor," the Congressman said in a recent statement released on his website.
