IMSA ChemClub Places 3rd and 4th in U.S. Crystal Growing Competition

The IMSA ChemClub impressed at the United States Crystal Growing Competition, with Seniors Shelly Teng and Rajiv Patel O'Connor winning third place in the Overall category and Sophomore Neha Verma winning fourth place in the Quality category.

The nationwide competition, judged by SUNY University at Buffalo, had students grow crystals from October 20th to November 24, and evaluated them based on the aforementioned categories. IMSA's ChemClub team is lead by Science Faculty Dr. John Thurmond. The third place winning crystal, grown by Shelly and Rajiv with guidance from ChemClub team sponsor and Science Faculty Dr. John Thurmond, is number 3 below.
