IMSA participated in its first National History Bee and Bowl (NHBB) state competition and dominated, winning both the Bowl and the Bee events.
The National History Bee and Bowl is an international competition in its third year with two parts, a History Bowl, which is a 4-on-4 team event, and a U.S. History Bee, which is an individual competition. IMSA's bowl team of Anton Karpovich, Varun Iyer, Andrew Salij, and Waleed Ali went undefeated to win the State Championship in the Bowl, and Waleed Ali, Anton Karpovich, and Andrew Salij got first, second, and third respectively in the Bee.
Last month, IMSA hosted a regional for NHBB's U.S. History Bee, with IMSA's Andrew Salij earning first place and Waleed Ali getting second.
IMSA will be competing at Nationals in Arlington, Virginia the last weekend in April. IMSA's students, led by Math Faculty Dr. Noah Prince, will compete in the following events: National History Bowl, National History Bee, U.S. History Bee, and U.S. Geography Olympiad.
