Eveline Liu, a Junior from Naperville, was invited to Congressman Peter Roskam’s office on May 5, where she was one of three students recognized for her artwork. Eveline’s painting “Longing” earned her a Merit Winner award in the annual Congressional Art Competition by Suzanne Massion, an independent judge who is a juried member of Oil Painters of America.
Eveline’s artwork will be displayed in Congressman Roskam’s office for one year. “I am always impressed by the creativity and ability these students demonstrate, and this year was no exception,” said Congressman Roskam in a statement on his website. “Congratulations to all the artists who participate, and I hope this is just the beginning of their interest and participation in the arts.”
