Junior Vinesh Kannan Takes 10th in Nation Speech Competition Category

Vinesh Kannan, a Junior from Schaumburg, excelled in the National Forensic League’s speech competition, earning 10th place out of 250 competitors in the Domestic Extemporaneous Speaking category. Vinesh wowed judges and competitors alike in the national championship, which took place in Birmingham, Alabama from June 18-21.Vinesh in the entire nation in Domestic Extemporaneous Speaking. 

Vinesh  also made the semifinals in the category of Impromptu Speaking, placing in the top 20 out of a field of about 450 students.

Vinesh is the first IMSA student to receive a trophy at the National Championships, and by making it to the semifinals of a main event, he automatically qualifies for next year's national tournament in Kansas City.
