Senior William Widjaja Named Horatio Alger National Scholar, Receives $22,000 Scholarship

l-horatio-alger.jpgWilliam Widjaja of Aurora has been named a 2015 Horatio Alger National Scholar, an honor that comes with a $22,000 college scholarship to be disbursed over his college career. The Horatio Alger Association awards 106 of these scholarships annually to students that have faced and overcome great obstacles in their young lives, and who are committed to using their college degrees in service of others.

In addition to the scholarship,William has been offered an all-expense paid trip to the 2015 Horatio Alger National Scholars Conference in Washington, D.C., which includes lunch at the State Department, a visit with Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, and more.
