Dr. Crystal Randall

Bio:

Dr. Crystal Randall has been a member of the science faculty at the Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy since 2014. She teaches introductory biology, microbiology, cancer biology, and SIR courses. Prior to teaching at IMSA, Crystal was a National Research Council Postdoctoral Fellow at the Edgewood Chemical and Biological Center in Edgewood Maryland, where she studied in vitro models to assess pulmonary toxicity. Dr. Randall earned a Ph.D. in microbiology from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign, and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from the University of Evansville. Teaching and research interests: equity in STEM education, student-centered pedagogy, microbiology, virology, immunology, and molecular biology.
