The President of the Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy (IMSA) is a visionary thought and action leader with a strong record of successful proof of concept, sustaining excellence and mission-driven disruptive innovation. S/he is the chief executive officer, reporting to the IMSA Board of Trustees, and the chief administrative officer, fulfilling the requirements of the Board’s administrative functions. The President creates and ensures an environment in which faculty and staff engage and strive, residential students excel and lead, educators and other students build skills and “break free” of mental models and practices antithetical to professional growth and meaningful learning, and policymakers and funders see and support new possibilities. Environmental scanning, resource development and stewardship, publications and presentations, and employee talent development also are essential accountabilities.
The Board of Trustees expects to select IMSA’s next President as soon as the summer and no later than the fall of 2014. Applications, nominations, or confidential inquiries concerning this search may be sent by email to the Academy’s HR department at email@example.com. The Search Committee will begin its review of candidates in late December 2013 and will proceed until an appointment is made.
The Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy is an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer committed to diversity and excellence. Qualified individuals from all backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
