Each year a teacher is selected to receive the Daughters of Colonial Wars statewide Outstanding American History Teacher Award and is identified by outstanding service by the exemplification and encouragement of patriotism and interest in American history and our American heritage. Dr. Skinner is the recipient of the 2015 Award and advances to the national level where he will compete with American History teachers from other states. The national winner will be announced in April.
The National Society Daughters of Colonial Wars (DCW) was established in 1917 to honor the men and women who assisted in the establishment, defense and preservation of the American Colonies.
