Annual Fund Priorities for Support

Funding Priorities for the 2015-16 Academic Year

Your contribution to this year's Annual Fund Campaign supports the following high-priority program areas:

Multicultural Student Recruitment and Enrichment

Recruit and retain talented students who are economically disadvantaged and those who are underrepresented in the STEM fields, and help develop their interests in math and science while preparing them for success as an IMSA student through the PROMISE programs

Scholarly Travel

Provide travel support for students to participate in local, national and international educational experiences and conference presentations (including opportunities through the Student Inquiry and Research program), and support faculty conference presentations.

Great IMSA Minds Program

Launch an updated version of IMSA's Great Minds Program to feature alumni and faculty who will inspire those we serve in greater ways.

Student Life Activities

Enrich the “home away from home” experience for IMSA’s residential students and provide meaningful and memorable student events, including Prom and the highly distinguished Graduation ceremony at the Paramount Theater in Aurora.

FUSION Program Scholarships

IMSA FUSION offers teacher professional development and after-school student STEM enrichment programs for Illinois students in grades 4-8.  Funds will be used to expand FUSION program efforts and assist schools in costs associated with implementing program at their schools.

Student, Alumni and Parent Networking and Events

Facilitate connections between IMSA alumni, students, parents and the Academy through the IMSA Alumni Association (IAA) and the Parent Association Council (PAC). Funding supports regional gatherings for alumni, sponsorship and assistance with annual Alumni Weekend events and student events including Intersession and Career Forums.  Funds are also used for various social activities for students and parents including summer picnics to meet fellow families within the regions, Parents Day, College Day, Friday Fests, as well as supporting infrastructure operating costs for both the IAA and PAC.

Economic Impact Study

Evaluate and provide a data-informed analysis for use as a tool in decision making and to support requests for funding from the state and other private funders.

Employee Engagement and Leadership Support

Support our dedicated faculty and staff with improved professional development benefits so that we can recruit, retain and reward them for their service. In addition, IMSA’s President, Principal, and President Emerita each have modest discretionary funds available for conferences, student assistance, faculty and staff awards, speakers, dues for networking organizations, travel and more, which aid in furthering IMSA’s mission and brand.
