Four IMSA seniors were named semifinalists in the prestigious national Siemens Competition in Math, Science & Technology.
The IMSA community had even more to celebrate following several special presentations at the community-wide celebration in honor of its Intel Star Innovator Award.
A senior at the Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy (IMSA) has qualified as a semifinalist in the 2010 National Achievement® Scholarship Program, an academic competition for African-American high school students.
AURORA—The Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy® (IMSA) recently recognized its 42 semifinalists in the 2010 National Merit® Scholarship Program.
The Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy (IMSA) was named the nationwide winner of the 2009 Intel Star Innovator Award. This award is presented annually to a school that has a “comprehensive program incorporating innovative and effective use of technology, engaging parents and the community in students’ education, fostering professional development and teamwork, and delivering consistent achievement of high academic standards.”
Registration is now open for ninth-graders in the Chicago area to participate in the tuition-free PROMISE - Early Involvement Program (EIP) sponsored by the Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy® (IMSA). The application deadline is Friday, October 16, 2009.
Last year with the seed funding from the Illinois Clean Energy Community Foundation (ICECF), IMSA embarked on a journey that has led to the installation of two solar panels on IMSA’s campus, the addition of summer programs centered around energy explorations and the development of the IMSA Energy Center, a collaboration of staff and students that work together to design and implement explorations in energy.
IMSA will have a variety of special events on Saturday, September 26 to celebrate Homecoming and to honor recipients of the annual Board of Trustees Alumni Awards.
IMSA’s newly-installed solar panels – part of the IMSA Energy Center – are already providing substantive benefits to the campus and the environment, offsetting 759 pounds of carbon dioxide in the first 85 days alone.
The Ceremonial Ribbon Cutting of IMSA’s New Metro-East Field Office located at Lindenwood University – Belleville Campus, featuring Illinois State Senator James F. Clayborne Jr. and IMSA President Dr. Max McGee, will be held on Thursday, September 17, 2009.
