Sarah Lightfoot Vidal, a 2008 IMSA alumna and recent graduate of Drexel University in Philadelphia, has been given a Fulbright Student Grant to conduct research in Concepción, Chile.

Vinesh Kannan, a Junior from Schaumburg, excelled in the National Forensic League’s speech competition, earning 10th place out of 250 competitors in the Domestic Extemporaneous Speaking category.

Senior James Tao outdid himself this summer, winning a gold medal competing for Team USA at the International Mathematics Olympiad.

Senior Shelly Li and Junior Srisha Kotlo competed against 1,500 students in the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) and both came away with admirable fourth place awards and $500 for their projects.

Gabriella Heller ’10 was awarded a prestigious Goldwater Scholarship, which provides $7,500 towards the educational expenses of college sophomores and juniors doing who have a promising future in the natural sciences, math, or engineering.
