The National Science Board has announced that IMSA Resident Scholar and Nobel Laureate Dr. Leon Lederman has received the distinguished 2012 Vannevar Bush Award.

It was March Madness of a different kind as IMSA's Titan Robotics Team, 2022, became part of the winning alliance at the Midwest Regional FIRST Robotics Competition.

For the second consecutive year, the IMSA Scholastic Bowl team won first place (Class AA) in the IHSA Scholastic Bowl State Tournament held in Peoria.

IMSA is seeking applicants for its summer residential enrichment program for underrepresented minority students.

Mathematics Faculty Member Dr. Vince Matsko recently was selected to receive a 2012 Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Inspirational Teacher Award.

What better way to celebrate Pi Day at IMSA than with a Junior High Math Contest?

On Wednesday, March 14 (Pi Day), IMSA's chapter of Mu Alpha Theta will host nearly 450 students and coaches from 24 area middle/junior high schools for the 23rd Annual Mu Alpha Theta Junior High Math Contest.

A team from the Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy® (IMSA) won the regional Science Bowl tournament recently and will receive an all-expense paid trip to compete in the 22nd Annual U.S. Department of Energy National Science Bowl in Washington, D.C. April 26-30, 2012.

An IMSA senior is one of only two students from Illinois and among 40 in the nation who were named Intel Science Talent Search (Intel STS) Finalists. Often considered the “junior Nobel Prize,” the Intel STS is America’s oldest and most prestigious high school science competition. 

Back by popular demand, IMSA is accepting registrations for two separate professional development day opportunities to be held March 2, 2012 from 8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. at IMSA.
