IMSA Class of 2004 graduate Alice Zhao of Aurora was one of only three recipients selected by the Alumnae of Northwestern University to receive a 2012 Graduate Fellowship for graduate-level tuition.  

A team of four IMSA students competed against 45 other teams from 25 countries and four continents to earn a Distinction Award in the Singapore International Math Challenge.

A team of IMSA students won first place in Illinois in the Technology Student Association's 2012 TEAMS (Tests of Engineering Aptitude, Mathematics and Science) engineering competition.

In a moving and inspiring commencement video address, IMSA's beloved Principal Dr. Eric McLaren urged the Class of 2012 to find their sense of purpose in life by "being good for something."

The Illinois House of Representatives passed a House Resolution in honor of an IMSA senior being named a finalist in the Intel Science Talent Search Competition.

For the second year in a row, IMSA senior Peter Lu was selected to be a member of the United States Physics Team, one of only 20 students nationwide chosen for the top honor.

A team of 31 IMSA students won first place in the 32nd Annual Illinois Council of Teachers of Mathematics (ICTM) State Math Contest (Div. 4 AA) held at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign on May 5, 2012.

Illinois Congressman Randy Hultgren visited with IMSA students and staff during “Take Your Congressman to School” Day recently, presented by the Student Committee for IMSA Advancement (SCIA).

U.S. Senator Dick Durbin visited with IMSA students on his recent stop in Aurora, accompanied also by Illinois Sen. Linda Holmes and Illinois Rep. Linda Chapa LaVia.

IMSA Class of 2009 Graduate Kristen Lee was one of only 54 students nationwide selected as a Truman Scholar.
