The IMSA Fund for Advancement of Education has received a two-year $145,000 grant from the Tellabs Foundation to further develop and expand CoolHub.IMSA, a one-of-a-kind “no walls” online collaborative platform for innovation in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) teaching and learning.

The IMSA Scholastic Bowl team won first place (Class AA) in the IHSA Scholastic Bowl State Tournament recently held in Peoria.

The Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy® (IMSA) is seeking applicants for its summer residential enrichment program for underrepresented minority students.

IMSA student entrepreneurs pitched a variety of new business ideas including Cloud Car Platform, Gravity Game Studio and Nanowire Network Sensors to venture capital investors and entrepreneurial leaders during the third annual Power Pitch IMSA TALENT Entrepreneurial Contest.

The winter 2011 edition of the journal Gifted Child Today, now in print, includes an article written by several staff members featuring case stories of one IMSA student and two IMSA alumni from urban communities.

One team from the Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy® (IMSA) received the highest ranking possible in the 13th annual international High School Mathematical Contest in Modeling (HiMCM). Their performance placed IMSA among the top seven schools in the world in this year’s competition.

The Ceremonial Ribbon Cutting of IMSA’s new Rock Island Region Field Office located at the Rock Island Center for Math and Science featured Rock Island Mayor Dennis Pauley and IMSA President Dr. Glenn W. “Max” McGee.

Back by popular demand, IMSA is accepting registrations for its second annual Multi-County Professional Development Day to be held February 25, 2011 at IMSA.

More than 1,200 parents and students attended IMSA Preview Day on Sunday, January 30, 2011. IMSA Preview Day was an opportunity for students, their parents and teachers to learn more about the Academy's academic and residential life programs.

Five IMSA seniors are among only 13 from Illinois and 300 in the nation who were named Intel Science Talent Search (Intel STS) Semifinalists in the 70th Annual Intel Science Talent Search.
