For the fifth consecutive year, the Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy was named to the "Public Elites" list in Newsweek Magazine's Best High Schools in the U.S. special report.

IMSA junior Amber Farrell of Carbondale is the first IMSA female athlete to become an IHSA State Champion after winning first place in both the 100 m High Hurdles and 300 m Hurdles at the Class AA Girls State Track and Field Meet.

The twenty-second senior class of the Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy graduated on Saturday, June 5, at the Paramount Theatre in Aurora.

A team of 30 IMSA students won first place in the 30th Annual Illinois Council of Teachers of Mathematics (ICTM) State Math Contest (Div. 4 AA) held at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign on May 1, 2010.

IMSA senior Sabrina Pasterski of Chicago is one of only 10 students statewide named to the 2010 Chicago Tribune All-State Academic Team.

IMSA Science Teacher Dr. Mark Carlson is one of only six teachers statewide to receive the Illinois Science Teachers Association/ExxonMobil Outstanding Teacher of Science Award.

The 22nd Annual IMSAloquium, the Academy’s premier student research showcase, is featured in the Elgin Courier-News and the Daily Herald.

IMSA was touted recently in a local newspaper story for its "academic hardware" in an interview with IMSA President Dr. Glenn W. "Max" McGee.

With thousands of problems and hours of practice behind them, IMSA’s Scholastic Bowl team finished the year with an impressive record of achievement to add to the IHSA record books.
