IMSA Invites Students and Parents to November 13, 2010 Preview Day; Applications Available Online

The Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy® (IMSA) has scheduled an IMSA Preview Day for Saturday, November 13, 2010 from 10:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m..   IMSA Preview Day is an opportunity for students, their parents and teachers to learn more about the Academy's academic and residential life programs.

During Preview Day, families will have the chance to meet with current IMSA students, their parents, IMSA staff, and get a first hand look at IMSA’s residential college preparatory program. Several discussion panels and tours of our facilities will be held in the afternoon. We respectfully request student guests attend Preview Day with at least one adult. No advance reservations are needed for IMSA Preview Days.   Please arrive by 10:30 a.m. to take advantage of all offerings of this formal event.   

Barbara Miller, IMSA Director of Enrollment and Academic Services, encourages guests to attend this popular event that attracts hundreds of parents and prospective students from all corners of the state of Illinois. "Our Preview Day guests attend mock classes, learn about student life and residential living, tour the campus and enjoy snacks with current students, parents, alumni and alumni parents," Miller said. "Preview Day shares all the gems of the Academy including the advanced curriculum, the faculty, research, leadership and service opportunities.  It is an Academy wide collaborative effort."

Applications for next fall enrollment to the IMSA Class of 2014 are available online at .  Students also can contact their guidance counselor or IMSA's Office of Admissions at (630) 907-5028 or 1-800-500-IMSA to request an application.  A written application must be completed and submitted to IMSA, postmarked or submitted electronically no later than March 1, 2011.

Talented Illinois students enrolled in the equivalent of a ninth grade program are eligible for consideration to the three-year (grades 10-12) advanced college preparatory program.  All students live on campus. Tuition is provided by state funds however some fees are charged based on family income.
