IMSA recently inducted 32 students from throughout Illinois into its chapter of the National Honor Society (NHS).
|President Dr. Glenn W. “Max” McGee (Adviser), Director of External Affairs Steven Suh '12 and IMSA Resident Scholar Dr. Leon Lederman (Guest Speaker)
|NHS Co-Presidents Julianne Crawford '12 and Grace Choi '12|
The students were honored during an induction ceremony at IMSA on September 29, 2011. IMSA’s National Honor Society Faculty/Staff Council members included IMSA Assistant Director of Student Life: Leadership and Service, Linsey Crowninshield; Vice President for Business and Finance/CFO Patrick Furlong; Wellness Faculty Member David Lundgren; President Dr. Glenn W. “Max” McGee (Adviser); and English Faculty Member Tracy Townsend.
Since IMSA does not have class rank, calculate grade point averages or GPA, the traditional criteria used to establish NHS chapters do not apply to IMSA.
“IMSA students made a compelling case to the national organization to allow IMSA to use different criteria—the service and production, and eventual dissemination of an original work of scholarship—as the primary criteria for members,” said IMSA President Dr. Max McGee.
