IMSA Team Part of Winning Alliance in Midwest Regional FIRST Robotics Competition

It was March Madness of a different kind as IMSA's Titan Robotics Team, 2022, became part of the winning alliance at the Midwest Regional FIRST Robotics Competition.

IMSA's team, sponsored by Caterpillar, Inc. and The Pentair Foundation,  will now advance to the FIRST Championship held April 25-28 in St. Louis, Missouri.

IMSA's Titan Robotics Team 2022 Celebrates a Win at the Midwest Regional FIRST Robotics Competition.

At the Midwest Regional competition, held in the UIC Pavillion, robots played The Rebound Rumble, trying to score as many of the basketballs in the hoops as possible during the two minute and 15 second match.  The Rebound Rumble robotics game was played between two "Alliances" of three teams each.

IMSA Titan Robotics Team 2022 sponsor and mentor Jim Gerry said the win was especially meaningful because it was a "come from behind" victory.

"The team had to continue to improve the robot on its way to the winning circle and as a result, the IMSA team recorded the highest score at the competition in the finals," Gerry said.
