Kim: race-based affirmative action survey

In my investigation, I will survey a random sample of the IMSA student population. It will be confidential, serving to understand the perceptions that IMSA students hold about race-based affirmative action in college admissions.

Students will be surveyed with questions regarding students’ backgrounds in terms of political orientation, gender, and ethnicity. These factors will be used to categorize the data collected and help understand students’ perceptions of affirmative action. The main questions will ask if the student agrees that affirmative action policies are justified or effective.

I will compare the results of this survey with surveys conducted in the past about race-based affirmative action. I will also correlate race with the answers to the quantifiable questions. Ultimately, I hope to understand IMSA students’ perceptions of race-based affirmative action in college admissions.
