Bio:

Dr. Sheila Wille is an Instructor in the History and Social Sciences Department. She currently teaches Ancient World Religion and Philosophy, Global Commodities and Culture Contact, World in the Twentieth Century, and the History of Biology. She hopes to introduce a class in Environmental History in the 2019-2020 school year.

Dr. Wille earned her PhD in History from the University of Chicago in 2014 and served as the Mellon Fellow in Environmental Humanities at Northwestern University before arriving to teach at IMSA in the Fall of 2017. Her specific fields of study include eighteenth-century British and Imperial history, environmental history, and history of science. She is especially interested in the histories of botany and entomology. She also holds degrees in Historical Archaeology and Anthropology.
