Summer@IMSA in Metro East

Metro East Day Programs (Grades 3-8)

Summer@IMSA Programs in the Metro East will take place at Fulton Jr. High School in O’Fallon the week of June 12 and BelleValley School in Belleville during the weeks of June 26 and July 10. Scholarships are available for military-affiliated students OR for those who demonstrate financial need.*

Each program week of the same name has the same content – we do not recommend repeating the same program. This page, as well as the registration and scholarship application forms, are best viewed on a computer.

Calling all forensic investigators! We’ve encountered a crime scene mystery and need your help to crack the case! As part of this program, participants will work in teams to gather evidence as they unravel the science and mathematics behind crime scene clues like fingerprints and footprints, DNA, handwriting, and more! At the end of the week, teams will analyze their evidence, make deductions and propose their ideas and theories to solve the mystery.

*You will specify how you qualify for this program (military affiliation or financial need) in your initial application form. You will also indicate your first and second choices for the program date/location.

PLEASE NOTE: Incomplete applications will not be reviewed.  Due to limited funding, it's likely that not all students who qualify for a scholarship will receive one, therefore it's in your best interest to apply early and make sure your application is complete as scholarships will be awarded on a rolling basis.

Military-Affiliation Scholarships

Dependents of all armed services members and DoD civilians are eligible for a military scholarship. Scholarships will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis, and a waitlist will be created after those spots are filled.

Military Affiliation Scholarship recipients must attend and participate all five days, as the program is funded through the Air Force K-12 STEM Program. Please do not register your child unless you can make this commitment. Since spots are limited, if registered participants later find that they cannot attend, please email studentenrichment@imsa.edu as soon as possible to allow another child to use the spot.

After you finalize the initial application form, please log into your Active.com account to complete and submit the required scholarship essay.

  • Essay Question: Why are you passionate about STEM? How can a Summer @ IMSA program help you to develop this passion further? (800 characters minimum, 1000 maximum)
