Metro East Scholarship Information

*You will specify how you qualify for this program (military-affiliation or financial need) in your initial application form. You will also indicate your first and second choices for the program date/location.

Dependents of all armed services members and DoD civilians are eligible for a military scholarship. Program seats will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis, and a waitlist will be created after those seats are filled.

Scholarship recipients must attend and participate all five days, as the program is funded through the Air Force K-12 STEM Program. Please do not register your child unless you can make this commitment. Since seats are limited, if registered participants later find that they cannot attend, please email studentenrichment@imsa.edu as soon as possible to allow another child to use the spot.

If you are applying for a financial, need-based scholarship, you will need to submit proof of financial need. Please provide the following items for eligibility:

  • SNAP or National School Lunch Program (NSLP): Please submit proof of eligibility for these programs. If you do not have a form in your possession or have difficulty getting it from your school or IDHS, you may submit a screenshot showing eligibility. Please contact us at studentenrichment@imsa.edu if you have difficulty with this requirement.
  • 2021 or 2022 federal tax returns showing proof of family income. To submit this requirement, please upload a JPEG or PDF image of the completed forms to your ACTIVE.com account.

After you finalize the initial application form, please log into your account to complete and submit the required scholarship essay.

  • Essay Question: Why are you passionate about STEM? How can a Summer @ IMSA program help you to develop this passion further?

PLEASE NOTE: Incomplete applications will not be reviewed.  Due to limited funding, it’s likely that not all students who qualify for a scholarship will receive one.  So it’s in your best interest to apply early and make sure your application is complete as scholarships will be awarded on a rolling basis.
