Dr. Janice Krouse
Math Faculty
Janice L. Krouse, Ed.D., has over 34 years of experience in mathematics education. As a member of the mathematics faculty at the Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy (IMSA), she has served in several leadership roles, including Curriculum and Assessment Leader for mathematics, mathematics placement coordinator, Principal’s Office Designee, Curriculum & Assessment Leader Designee, Faculty liaison to the Board of Trustees, and mentor. In these roles, Dr. Krouse has guided teachers in utilizing collaboration and higher-order thinking in the classroom, employing instructional strategies, writing in mathematics, and conducting formative assessments. In addition to her full-time teaching duties, Dr. Krouse also serves as the sponsor for IMSA’s chapter of the mathematics honor society, Mu Alpha Theta. Dr. Krouse also provides professional development and curricular support at IMSA and to schools in Illinois and beyond.
Dr. Krouse is a current board member of the Metropolitan Mathematics Club of Chicago (MMC) and has served as President of the Mathematics Department Heads of the Western Chicago Suburbs. She is a regular presenter at the National and Illinois Councils of Teachers of Mathematics Conferences and is a member of the National Council of Supervisors of Mathematics.
