What are three words to describe you?
Personable, creative, passionate
How do you describe your counseling style?
Although I tailor my specific approach to meet students where they are and to better suit their needs, my approach combines cognitive behavioral therapy and existentialism. Cognitive behavioral therapy is focused on how our thoughts, behaviors, and emotions relate to each other and influence our lives, whereas existentialism is focused on helping people find purpose and meaning from the struggles of simply being human.
What would you do if a student came to your office crying?
I would do my best to provide a safe and relaxing space for the student to process their emotions and their expressions of such. I would also ask what they feel that they want and/or need in the moment, whether that simply be some time to decompress, some comforting affirmations, or someone to simply listen to and be with them. Whatever the case, I will do my best to ensure the student feels validated and supported.
